Be Like This When You Recite The Qurʾān | Shaykh Ṣāliḥ bn Muḥammad al-Luḥaydān

When you recite the Qurʾān, have it in mind to apply what it contains of commands.

Then, when you pass by a verse about mercy, ask your Lord, the Most Merciful and the Bestower of mercy, to have mercy on you.

And when you pass by a verse about punishment, seek Allāh’s refuge from His punishment.

And when you pass by a verse that contains praise (of Allāh) and glorifying (Him), exalt Allāh and praise Him.

And the Prophet would do that while observing the [voluntary] prayer, as narrated in the ḥadīth of Ḥudhayfah, may Allāh be pleased with him.
