Likewise, you should be merciful towards that woman who left her father’s and mother’s house and came to live with you.
Be merciful towards your wife by doing good to her, spending on her according to what is reasonable, and treat her well as he said, may peace and blessings be upon him and like the Messenger of Allah ﷺ admonished.
You should command her with goodness, teach her goodness, and encourage her upon it.
And you should warn her from evil and from the means of evil, and treat her well.
Some people—unfortunately—you see him outside [his house] soft, tender, and easy going. He shows mercy to the people.
And when he is in his house, he changes and transforms to a strict lion.
The Prophet of Allāh ﷺ said “The best of you is the best of you to his wives. And I am the best of you to my wives.”
May the peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him.
