He also said: During Ramaḍān, before around five years or more, I drank water out of forgetfulness, then I completed and I did not break my fast. And on another day, I also ate out of forgetfulness, however, I drank after eating, not knowing [the ruling on] this. I anticipate to be benefited, will I repay these days or what do I do, putting in mind that it was before five or more years ago? Give me a verdict, may Allāh reward you on behalf of me.
Shaykh Muḥammad bn Ṣāliḥ al-ʿUthaymīn
You have no repayment regarding that, not in your eating, nor in your drinking. Because your drinking occurred out of forgetfulness, and your eating occurred out of forgetfulness, and your (second) drinking occurred out of ignorance. And there is nothing upon the person if he was forgetful or ignorant.
