All praise is due to Allāh, the Lord of the worlds. And may He extol the Messenger ﷺ in the highest company of Angels, and grant him peace, likewise to his family, Companions and those who follow him until the Day of Resurrection.
Lesson On The Affairs From Days Of Pre-Islamic Ignorance by Shaykh Muḥammad bn ʿAbdilWahāb رحمه الله
With The Explanation Of Shaykh Ṣāliḥ Al-Fawzān حفظه الله
Taught By Ustādh Sa’eed Rhana حفظه الله
Points discussed during the class:
- Taking amusements and games as a religion by which to draw close to Allāh ﷻ is from the ways of the people of the days of Ignorance.
- Allāh ﷻ is the only legislator who has the right to deem what is Halāl and Harām in the Dīn.
- ‘Ibādāt (Acts of Worship) are Tawqīfiyyah; restricted to the texts of the Qur’ān and Sunnah.
- Bid’ah is worse than sin.
- Allāh ﷻ accepts only that which is sincerely done for His sake and complies with His Legislation.
- Don’t waste your time and wealth doing something that Allāh ﷻ will not accept from you.
- Safeguard your Dīn.
- Al-Lahw means every falsehood that turns one’s attention from the truth.
- Al-Lahw (Games) means the opposite of seriousness and it is that which has no benefit in it.
- This characteristic (Al-Lahw) is found in the Sūfīs.If you truly love Allāh ﷻ, follow His Legislation.
- From the distinguishing signs of the people of Bid’ah and Hizbiyyah is that they use plays, comedy, Nashīd and the likes in da’wah.
- Start the da’wah with Tawhīd; the Prophet ﷺ started with Tawhīd.
- Tawhīd is the foundation of the religion.
- Reciting good poetry that is free from evil in order to refute the polytheists and deviants, and defend the religion has no resemblance with An-Nashīd of today.
- There is no good in An-Nashīd because they were not used by the prophet ﷺ, his companions or any of the Salaf.
