(As for) trousers, don’t wear it, (it is) a wear that resembles that of the disbelievers. (Do) not (wear) trousers and not others like it. It is not for a woman to imitate the disbelievers nor men, and it is not for a man to imitate women or the disbelievers.
Questioner:
What if the woman wears a skirt over the trousers?
Shaykh ’Abd al-’Azīz bn Bāz:
The Intent (is): Do not imitate the disbelievers nor men.
If the wear has a resemblance with the clothing of her society, there’s no harm in it i.e if it is from the clothing of the society. But if it is from the clothing of the disbelievers, NO. Or the clothing of men, NO.

It is usually (worn) beneath clothes.

Beneath or above; if it is from the clothing of the disbelievers, NO.
Questioner:
Are you prohibiting wearing of trousers by women?
Shaykh ’Abd al-’Azīz bn Bāz:
If it’s something (that involves) imitating the men or the disbelievers. Even if it’s with the spouse (it is prohibited).
