Shaykh Khalid bn Dahwi az-Zufayri:
O Servants of Allāh, verily, what we experience in this world of heat should be a lesson and warning for us. We remember during it, the Fire of the hereafter, perhaps we would seize the means to safety and salvation from it.
Allāh, the Exalted and Most High says (what means):
“And they said: “March not forth in the heat.” Say: “The Fire of Hell is more intense in heat”, if only they could understand!” [at-Tawbah:81]
What is this fire? And what are it’s characteristics?
“And what will make you know what it is? (It is) a hot blazing Fire.” [al-Qāri’ah:10,11]
From Abū Hurayrah -may Allāh be pleased with him-, Allāh’s Messenger ﷺ said:
“The Hell-fire complained to its Lord saying: O Lord! My parts are eating (destroying) one another. So Allāh allowed it to take two breaths, one in the winter and the other in the summer. The severe cold you feel is from it’s breath in the winter and the severe heat you feel is from it’s breath in the summer.” [Reported by Ibn Mājah and Authenticated by al-Albānī]
Rather, the heat of the worldly life’s fire and not even it’s summer, cannot be compared with the heat of Jahannam (the Hellfire).
It was reported in the Ṣaḥeeḥayn on the authority of Abū Hurayrah -may Allāh be pleased with him- that the Prophet ﷺ said:
“This (ordinary) fire of yours that is set by the children of Ādam, is one of seventy parts of the Hellfire.” They said: “O Allāh’s Messenger, this (ordinary) fire would have surely been sufficient (to torture the people of the fire),” He said, “The Hellfire has sixty-nine parts more than the ordinary (worldly) fire, each part is as hot as this (worldly) fire.”
