Some people, my children, we know them well, he was upon the pure Sunnah. And he was very serious in seeking knowledge. Rather, at some point in time, he was considered to be among those diligent in seeking knowledge. And he authored excellent books.
Then, he was afflicted with getting married to a wife who was not upright. Then he began to slacken and become careless about (observing) congregational prayers and other than it. And he was madly in love with her. She debased him to the extent of him not being able to carry out a lot of the religious rites. And there is no power nor might, except by Allāh.
And as at that time, he made gravely unacceptable statements, when some of his brothers met and advised him. And some statements were narrated from him.
However, he realized after many years, that he was in a severe retrogression. (It is) either the religion or the woman. So he separated from her and he was crying bitterly.
Allāh guided him through a sincere brother who advised and clarified to him, and was severe and harsh to him.
So this advise had a good spot and he assented (to it), and all praises are due to Allāh. So he separated from her, (even though) he did not want to. His condition improved after a while, and all praises are due to Allāh, for guiding him.
