Shaykh ’Abd al-’Azīz bn Bāz -may Allāh have mercy on him- said:
And if the people of the Truth were to keep silent from clarifying it, the mistaken will continue upon their mistakes and other than them will blindly follow them in that and the silent ones will receive the sin of concealing (the truth) that Allāh promised them in His –the Exalted’s– statement:
Verily, those who conceal the clear proofs, evidences and the guidance, which We have sent down, after We have made it clear for the people in the Book, they are the ones cursed by Allah and cursed by the cursers. Except those who repent and do righteous deeds, and openly declare (the truth which they concealed). These, I will accept their repentance. And I am the One Who accepts repentance, the Most Merciful. [al-Baqarah:159-160]
And Allāh took a covenant from the Scholars of the people of the book to make it (the religious knowledge) clear to the people and not conceal it, and he condemned them for throwing it behind their backs and he warned us against their followers. So, if the people of the Sunnah keep silent about the clarification of the mistakes of whoever opposes the Book and Sunnah, they have resembled –with that– the people of the book those who have earned Allāh’s anger and have gone astray.
